How to play Color Clash

Each round shows a color name — CORAL, CYAN, LIME or VIOLET — printed in ink of a different color. Your brain wants to answer with the ink; the game wants the word. Tap the choice whose label matches the word before the shared 30-second clock empties. Correct answers score 10 plus the seconds remaining, wrong answers cost 5, and your best run is saved. This is the classic Stroop effect from psychology — a genuine attention workout dressed as an arcade game, free in your browser at Skorven.

Tips & strategy

  • Say the word in your head before you look at the colors — verbal beats visual in a Stroop fight.
  • Slow down on the first three rounds; the rhythm you set early carries the whole run.
  • Wrong answers cost 5 and burn time — a skipped beat is cheaper than a miss.

Color Clash FAQ

What is the Stroop effect?

The delay your brain hits when a word’s meaning and its ink colour disagree. Reading is automatic, so naming the ink means suppressing the word first — that interference is the whole game.

Do I answer the word or the ink?

The ink, always. The word CORAL printed in cyan ink is answered with cyan.

Is Color Clash free?

Completely — browser-based, no download, no signup.
